Traction and Retraction Techniques in Robotic Liver Resection: A Scoping Review

This scoping review followed PRISMA-ScR guidelines to map traction and retraction techniques for parenchymal transection in robotic liver resection. Eligibility criteria: studies involving robotic or robot-assisted liver resection describing a traction or retraction technique as an analyzable element of parenchymal transection. Studies focusing exclusively on open or laparoscopic surgery with no reported robotic application, lacking a traction technique as an analyzable element of the surgery, or consisting of reviews, editorials, commentaries, errata or non-human research were excluded. No date restrictions were applied. Databases searched: MEDLINE (PubMed), Web of Science Core Collection, Cochrane CENTRAL. Scopus and Embase were not available under institutional licenses and were not searched. Search results: 434 records identified, 236 duplicates removed, 198 screened by title/abstract, 34 full texts assessed for eligibility, 12 studies included. This registration was competed retrospectively, prior to journal submission.
