Immersive Digital Twins of Viable Systems

This paper introduces the concept of Immersive Digital Twins of Viable Systems as a new stage in the development of intelligent scientific infrastructures within the framework of Vitology. The proposed approach integrates digital twins, immersive technologies, artificial intelligence, computational modeling, real-time data integration, and interactive scientific visualization to create dynamic virtual representations of viable systems.Unlike conventional digital twins, immersive digital twins allow researchers not only to observe system states but also to interact directly with multidimensional models, explore alternative developmental trajectories, investigate adaptive processes, and analyze the mechanisms responsible for preserving, restoring, and enhancing viability. Artificial intelligence supports continuous model refinement, pattern recognition, predictive analysis, and scientific hypothesis generation while preserving the central role of human scientific reasoning and interpretation. The paper examines the conceptual foundations, architecture, analytical mechanisms, and research applications of immersive digital twins. Particular attention is devoted to their integration with the Space of Harmony, interdisciplinary systems research, and future intelligent scientific infrastructures. It is argued that immersive digital twins may become a fundamental component of future Computational Vitology, providing researchers with powerful environments for understanding, predicting, and improving the viability of natural, biological, ecological, social, organizational, technological, and artificial systems. Keywords Vitology; viability; immersive digital twins; digital twins; immersive technologies; artificial intelligence; computational modeling; Space of Harmony; real-time simulation; predictive modeling; interactive visualization; interdisciplinary systems science; Computational Vitology; intelligent scientific environments.
