Implant Retention Using Continuous Local Antibiotic Perfusion for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus Periprosthetic Joint Infection after Lateral Approach Total Ankle Arthroplasty: A Case Report
Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is one of the most serious complications following total ankle arthroplasty (TAA), and implant retention is often challenging, particularly in delayed-onset infections. Continuous local antibiotic perfusion (CLAP) has recently gained attention as an effective treatment for fracture-related infections and PJI following total hip arthroplasty and knee arthroplasty; however, its application in PJI after TAA has not been reported in the literature.
