Association between Sarcopenia and Moderate to Severe Hallux Valgus in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis Aged Over 50 Years
Introduction: Forefoot deformities may worsen even with continued rheumatoid arthritis (RA) therapies that manage disease activity. This study aimed to explore the characteristics of RA patients with moderate to severe hallux valgus deformity, defined as a hallux valgus angle (HVA) of ≥30 degrees. We propose that such deformities result from factors distinct from RA disease activity in middle-aged or older patients with RA.
