Checkrein Deformity of the Lesser Toes Due to Flexor Digitorum Longus Adhesion After Distal Tibial Shaft Fracture: A Case Report
Checkrein deformity is a dynamic claw-like deformity of the toes that becomes apparent during ankle dorsiflexion and disappears with plantarflexion. It is most commonly associated with adhesion or entrapment of the flexor hallucis longus (FHL) tendon following a lower-leg fracture. Although concomitant involvement of the flexor digitorum longus (FDL) with the FHL has been described, isolated FDL involvement is rare.
