The Horoscope as the Foundation of Astrology: A Structural Analysis
In this paper I set out, in a structured and systematic way, how the horoscope operates as the foundation of astrology. I treat astrology as the study of the relationship between celestial bodies and human life, and I identify the horoscope as its central and organizing object. Across the sections that follow, I explain how the horoscope forms at birth, how houses and signs are structured, how planetary and stellar energy is understood to reach the Earth, how planetary and sign lordship operate, how a colour-based theory accounts for rulership, how the doctrine of planetary aspect (drishti) works, how astrology divides into three branches — horoscopy, palmistry, and numerology — and finally, how astrology relates philosophically to human action. Beyond simply stating each principle, I also work through the reasoning that connects one principle to the next, so that the system reads not as a list of separate rules but as a single, internally consistent structure. My aim throughout is to lay out this system clearly, in depth, and to draw out its full internal logic.
