LIVE BIRTH AND MISCARRIAGE OUTCOMES ACROSS PGT-A RESULT CATEGORIES: EUPLOID, MOSAIC, ANEUPLOID, AND UNTESTED EMBRYO TRANSFERS
Objective: To review live birth rates (LBR), miscarriage and pregnancy loss across preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) result categories (euploid, mosaic, aneuploid, and untested) in single frozen embryo transfer cycles at a private practice. Design: Retrospective observational study. Materials and Methods: The total number of eSET cycles completed through 2023-2024 was 3,435 and were stratified by chromosomal status: euploid (n=3199), mosaic (n=41), aneuploid (n=18), and no PGT-A result (n=150). Fisher’s exact and chi-square tests applied (p<0.05). Results: Among the pregnant cycles, aneuploidy embryo transfers resulted in a pregnancy loss in 72.7% of the cases. No PGT-A cycles performed equally well as the euploid embryos, which resulted in a live birth rate of 56.7%. Conclusions: Live birth rates declined significantly with aneuploidy and mosaicism. Mosaic and aneuploid transfer results in higher rates of implantation failures and pregnancy loss rates. The euploidy miscarriage rate is 8.3% and increases to 22.2% for the aneuploid embryos. Although the study is limited by the small number of aneuploid and mosaic embryos, it reveals a meaningful clinical trend and warrants further investigation. This data supports the importance of genetic testing along with euploid embryo prioritization and highlights the discrepancy for non-euploid embryos.
