Thresholds: Studio Documentation of Thirteen Paintings (2026)

The Threshold series was developed between 2025 and 2026 as thirteen paintings evolved concurrently rather than sequentially. Multiple canvases remained active in the studio over an extended period, allowing discoveries made in one painting to influence revisions in others. This publication documents the gradual transformation in the relationship between a recurring geometric structure (the square) and the surrounding painted field across four thematic groups: Group I - Placement: Introduces the fundamental visual language and intact geometric stacks. Group II - Relationship: Investigates chromatic integration between the geometric structure and the surface. Group III - Separation: Explores deliberate structural divisions into smaller units and parallel orientations Group IV - Dissolution: Examines the boundary dissolution where geometric form yields to an integrated painted surface. Abstract
