Interplay Between Bound State in the Continuum and the Generalized Kerker Effect in Plasmonic Metasurfaces

Collective resonances in plasmonic metasurfaces provide a powerful platform for engineering spectral responses and scattering directionality with high precision. A prominent example of such resonant directional scattering is the generalized Kerker effect, in which far‐field interference between higher order multipoles leads to strong suppression of reflection within a narrow spectral range. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate a plasmonic metasurface exhibiting the resonant lattice Kerker effect due to the excitation of a nonlocal mode. Through detailed analysis, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms and clarify its intricate relationship to bound states in the continuum (BIC), offering new insights for the design of high‐ Q plasmonic metasurfaces.
