Tailoring the power distribution of long-distance propagating Bessel-like structured laser beams via selective illumination
This study presents methods for tailoring the power distribution within pseudo-nondiffracting structured laser beams (SLBs) characterized by Bessel-like profiles. The relationship between the lens separation of the SLB generator ( L PL ) and the resulting optical power coupled through a fixed receiver aperture has been simulated and measured over a 420 m propagation distance. Additionally, two selective illumination strategies designed to enhance the coupled core power were explored. The results map the behavior of the beam power distribution across different geometries of the SLB generator configuration examined in this study. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that optimizing the illumination pattern redistributes energy from the outer rings into the central part of the beam, increasing the coupled power by more than a factor of three.
