Perspectives of Transitioning Towards Circular Economy in SMEs in Zambia - A Literature Review
This study examines the perspectives of transitioning towards a circular economy in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Zambia, employing a multi-level perspective (MLP). The MLP framework is crucial for comprehending socio-technical transitions, considering micro (organisational), meso (community), and macro (government) levels. The research highlights the significance of environmental and economic outcomes at the micro level, supply chain and consumer acceptance at the meso level, and policy instruments and financial incentives at the macro level. The study emphasises the significance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in adopting circular economy practices and provides recommendations for enhancing sustainability in Zambia's SME sector. Keywords: Circular Economy, SMEs, Multi-Level Perspective, Sustainability, Zambia, Socio-Technical Transition
