Replication package for "Measuring Extreme-Heat Exposure at Gulf Hub Airports, 1990–2025: Station Validation, Gridded Trends, and Coastal Bias"
Code, download scripts, crosswalks, and generated tables and figures reproducing every reported value in the article and its Supplementary Material. All primary data are free and public: NASA POWER daily maximum 2 m temperature (1990–2025), NOAA ISD-Lite hourly station reports, and OpenSky Network 2019 flight lists. The package evaluates a gridded reanalysis product against airport-station records at Dubai and four comparison airports, estimates threshold-based heat-exposure trends at eight Gulf hub airport grid cells, documents a marine grid-cell failure at Doha and Bahrain, and joins station exposure to 2019 flight records. Version 2 adds a 2015–2024 grid-versus-station trend comparison, a nonlinearity check, a daily-aggregation sensitivity analysis, a five-airport validation battery (new Table S8b), co-occurrence sensitivity bounds, and an off-season comparator. It corrects the five-airport 2023 correlation range and removes OpenFlights as a data source. See CHANGELOG.md.
