TBIRD (Traumatic Brain Injury Response Detection): A Volumetric Imaging Framework to Characterize Traumatic Brain Injury and Stratify Longitudinal Risk

This paper proposes TBIRD as a translational architecture, a structured blueprint for integratingvolumetric segmentation, uncertainty quantification, and longitudinal biomarker extraction, and defines the validation pathway required before clinical deployment. Empirical resultswill be reported in subsequent studies after Stage One feasibility testing. No implementation orpilot data are included, and TBIRD requires staged validation before clinical use. Although volumetric segmentation and uncertainty quantification exist independently, TBIRDis proposed as an integration framework that combines acute volumetric characterization, uncertaintyawareclinician review, and candidate longitudinal biomarker extraction for TBI surveillance. To our knowledge, no prior framework has integrated these elements into a continuous carepathway from acute imaging to long-term neurological monitoring.
