Reconfigurable Multi‐Channel Holography and Skyrmion Array Enabled by Spin‐Decoupled Holographic Design

ABSTRACT Liquid crystal (LC) elements based on the Pancharatnam–Berry phase offer a compact platform for spin‐dependent wavefront shaping, yet their inherent spin‐locked conjugation restricts independent control over orthogonal circular polarizations. Here, we break this limitation and demonstrate a LC element for spin‐decoupled holography through an off‐focal‐plane holographic design combined with a global Gerchberg–Saxton algorithm. This approach enables independent and arbitrary phase modulation for left‐ and right‐circularly polarized light within a single planar LC device, allowing the spin state and the propagation distance to function as decryption keys. Experimentally, we achieve multi‐channel information multiplexing by reconstructing distinct holographic images at four different observation planes under each spin illumination. Furthermore, exploiting the spin‐decoupled capability, we generate a holographic Stokes skyrmion array, which results from the superposition of a Gaussian array and an optical vortex array, yielding Stokes skyrmions at different local positions. Our work establishes a reconfigurable, high‐capacity holographic platform that simultaneously harnesses polarization and spatial dimensions, opening new routes for multidimensional optical encryption, topological light, and advanced structured light manipulation.
