Effect Modification of Treatment by Comorbidity in Randomized Clinical Trials of Multiple Sclerosis Disease-Modifying Therapies
The presence of differential treatment effect according to an individual's characteristics has important implications in clinical decision-making. Yet, whether comorbidity status modifies the effect of treatment in chronic conditions such as multiple sclerosis (MS) is not commonly evaluated. The objective of this study was to examine the association between comorbidities and treatment effectiveness of MS disease-modifying therapies in randomized clinical trials.
