Unified Informational Theory: From Quantum Phase Information to Physical Records in Spacetime, from Relativity to the Forces

What if time is not a dimension you move through, but a ledger you write into? To experience one moment as following another, something must retain a difference. Without memory there is no past, no future, and no flow of time, only an undifferentiated present. Memory is the sense organ of time, just as the eye is the sense organ of a narrow band of the electromagnetic field. What we, and every other memory-bearing system, experience as temporal passage is the ordered comparison of retained physical records. But registration alone is not enough. Time appears only when the newly written record contains a distinction that was not already present in memory. Repeated registration of the same information can preserve identity, motion, cadence, gravity, and physical structure without producing a new temporal increment. Every radian of Compton phase is the smallest phase-information change available for registration. A massive system continuously preserves these phase ticks as its own identity. A memory may select one and write it as a new counter state, or it may not. If no new distinction is recorded, the phase continues to the next tick, but no linear record-time is added. This distinction leads to a radically different physical picture. Phase can remain active without becoming history. Momentum can exist as a spatial phase gradient before it becomes a measured trajectory. Gravity can remain present as an unchanged radial relation without producing a new event. A person can remain seated in a chair even if every process capable of creating a new distinguishable state is frozen. Imagine a room in which an ideal controller prevents all configurational change. Metabolism stops. Chemical reactions stop. Neural updates stop. Heat redistribution stops. Motion and aging stop. No new memory can form. Yet the person does not float away. Gravity remains. The chair’s supporting force remains. Chemical bonds and material rigidity remain. The controller freezes changes in physical relations, not the relations themselves. An external observer may continue to accumulate records and describe the room as frozen for a million years, while inside the room no local time has been written at all. When the room is released, the person resumes from the last retained state without aging and without any memory of the external interval. This is the central claim of Unified Informational Theory: No changed retained distinction, no local linear time. Take that claim seriously, distinguish reversible phase from written record, and follow the consequences consistently. Something unexpected happens. The forces of nature stop looking like separate ingredients and begin to look like different readings of one underlying phase geometry. The theory uses one common physical currency: a change in energy corresponds to a change in phase rate through Planck’s constant. What changes from sector to sector is not the currency, but the type of readout. A spatial gradient gives a force. A derivative in velocity space gives inertia. A connection curvature gives electromagnetism. A finite orientation reversal gives the weak interaction. A failure of multi-carrier phase closure gives the strong interaction. A reduction in exterior record capacity gives relativistic and gravitational time dilation. MASS Mass is modeled as a stable closed null-phase motion. The phase complex sphere geometry supplies the topology that permits closure, while the Higgs, Yukawa, and gauge mass gaps dynamically lock the complementary components into stable massive eigenmodes. The Compton frequency is the internal recurrence rate of that closed complex sphere state. The measured Higgs vacuum value and the measured couplings therefore calibrate the elementary mass spectrum. What remains open is not the existence of self-closure, but the deeper geometric origin of the coupling hierarchy itself. POSITION, MOMENTUM, AND UNCERTAINTY Position and momentum are two complementary readings of the same phase-record object. Position is a registered address in record-space. Momentum is the spatial gradient of phase information. A constant momentum state is monotonic information. The same phase gradient repeats. A change in the magnitude or direction of momentum is a newly distinguishable physical update. A changing position does not automatically become a trajectory. A trajectory exists only for a system that retains an earlier position and compares it with a later one. This gives the uncertainty principle a direct informational meaning. A sharply written position requires localization to a narrow range of addresses. A sharply written momentum requires a coherent phase gradient extending across a broad range of addresses. These are Fourier-conjugate demands, which recover the canonical position-momentum commutator and the Heisenberg uncertainty relation. Uncertainty is therefore not merely disturbance by a measuring device. It is the finite simultaneous writability of a sharp spatial address and a sharp phase-gradient record. SPECIAL RELATIVITY AND INERTIA The ordinary internal phase cycle carries a finite projection budget. As velocity increases, more of this budget is committed to a repeated directional update and less remains available for writing new external temporal and spatial distinctions. The internal Compton phase does not slow. The exterior rate at which its ticks can become records is reduced. The Lorentz factor is therefore interpreted as the reciprocal cost of producing a new exterior distinction from the available phase process. A constant velocity is monotonic information. The same speed and direction repeat. A change in speed or direction is configurational information. It requires the phase-to-record allocation to be reorganized. Inertia is the resistance to that reorganization. The standard relativistic momentum and force laws are recovered from a derivative of the same projection potential in velocity space. GRAVITY Gravity uses the same projection law as special relativity, but in a different tensor channel. A single selected direction gives the kinematic Lorentz branch. Inside a closed mass, the same directional phase load is sampled isotropically. Its symmetric second-moment average produces an axis-free scalar source. Outside the source, spherical symmetry turns this into a radial readout. The resulting capacity factor recovers Newtonian attraction in the weak-field limit and the Schwarzschild exterior in the static spherical case. The theory distinguishes two internal cycles. The ordinary cycle supplies the Lorentzian projection shared by special relativity, inertia, and the weak gravitational monopole. The orthogonal cycle is progressively exposed by gravitational wrapping. It fixes the factor of two in the Schwarzschild radius, completes the horizon geometry, and enters the boundary-state count that recovers the black-hole area law. Static gravity is monotonic information. It preserves the same radial relation without creating a new event. Changing position, changing sources, tidal separation, gravitational radiation, or any other alteration of the relation produces new configurational information. ELECTROMAGNETISM Electric charge is treated as an integer winding or representation weight of a compact phase-transport sector. This naturally distinguishes charge from mass. Mass is continuous and positive because it measures the invariant cadence of a closed state. Charge is signed and quantized because it records orientation and integer winding in a compact phase connection. The Coulomb potential emerges from the electromagnetic phase-rate shift. Magnetism appears as the motion-dependent companion of the same connection. The electric scalar potential and magnetic vector potential mix under the same Lorentzian projection that governs momentum. The magnetic mixing coefficient is obtained independently from both relativistic momentum and the phase-plane geometry. QUANTUM EVOLUTION Before calibrated record-time exists, the state is fundamentally phase-active. Only after registration and calibration does the familiar time-dependent quantum representation appear. The same complex generator contains two conjugate orientations. These yield the ordinary Schrödinger equation and its conjugate partner as opposite directions on the phase circle. The quantum diffusion coefficient follows directly from the Compton cadence. This connects mass, phase recurrence, diffusion, and unitary evolution within one structure rather than treating them as unrelated postulates. THERMODYNAMICS AND LANDAUER The theory separates three quantities that are often conflated: The repetitive throughput that preserves identity. The fraction of finite capacity occupied by a monotonic process. The irreversible entropy generated when microscopic accessibility is lost. An ideal repetitive registration can operate at the Landauer equality with full microscopic reversibility and zero excess entropy production. The Lorentz and Schwarzschild factors do not measure dissipation. They measure the fraction of the underlying phase process that remains available for producing a new exterior distinction. In a complete reversal, returning environmental degrees of freedom physically erase the record. Only after the record has been erased does the minimal support invested in writing it become available in the reverse branch. The returning support energy and the released Landauer-equivalent support must occupy distinct microscopic addresses. Otherwise the energy ledger would be counted twice. WEAK INTERACTION The weak interaction is modeled as a finite rotation from the forward record orientation toward an inverse, locally unwriting orientation. The forward direction corresponds to writing and preserving identity. The opposite direction corresponds to removing a written identity relation and reconstructing a permitted daughter state.
