Influence of access to drinking water on the health risk of vulnerable families in San Juan de Lurigancho, 2026

This paper presents a research study entitled "Influence of Access to Drinking Water on the Health Risk of Vulnerable Families in San Juan de Lurigancho, 2026," which aimed to determine the influence of access to drinking water on the health risk of vulnerable families in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, Peru, in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6. A quantitative, applied, non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational, and explanatory study was conducted with a sample of 150 vulnerable families. Data was collected using a Likert-type questionnaire validated by expert judgment, exploratory factor analysis, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The results showed that access to drinking water significantly influences health risk, highlighting that water quality is the dimension with the greatest influence on reducing this risk. The study provides useful scientific evidence to strengthen public policies aimed at improving access to safe water and protecting the health of vulnerable populations.
