Defined, Not Derived: Ungrounded Physical Primitives as a Second Source of Structural Pathology in Fundamental Physics
Mass, momentum, and energy are, within Quantum-Geometry Dynamics (QGD), not independent stipulations but three distinct aggregation operators — count, vector sum, and magnitude sum — applied to a single primitive: the momentum vectors of constituent preons(+) in the state matrix. Standard physics derives none of its three central kinematic quantities from an invariant substrate; each is defined operationally or relationally, and several — mass chief among them — acquire multiple, mutually incompatible definitions (bare, renormalized, running, Yukawa-generated) across different regimes. This paper argues that this second import — the definitional-primitive import, structurally parallel to the continuum import already identified in the QGD/MPDT programme — is an independent and frequently compounding source of the pathologies afflicting fundamental physics: frame-dependent quantities, non-unique field-theoretic definitions, ultraviolet divergences, and, by an inheritance principle developed here, outright breakdowns of stated conservation laws whenever a conservation law is erected over a quantity that was never derived from an invariant substrate. A severity taxonomy (Inert/Non-unique/Divergent/Violating) cross-classified by import count is developed and tested against relativistic mass, the Abraham–Minkowski momentum ambiguity, the cosmological constant problem, the Higgs mass hierarchy problem, gravitational-wave energy transport under the GR pseudotensor problem, and the stress-energy tensor as universal source term. QGD momentum conservation is shown to be structurally immune to the inheritance principle, being derived in a single step from the axioms rather than postulated over an already-defined quantity. A remediation protocol follows from existing QGD/MPDT apparatus: the Constructibility Criterion (P40) as a grounding test, the Uniqueness Theorem (P1) as a certification test disqualifying ad hoc suppressors regardless of numerical success.
