Thermoacoustic wave propagation in laser-excited damaged hydrodynamic poroelastic media with exponential thermal conductivity

This study presents a generalized model for thermoacoustic wave propagation in hydrodynamic poroelastic media subjected to laser excitation, incorporating material degradation through a damage parameter and nonlinear heat transfer via exponential temperature-dependent thermal conductivity. The formulation couples the equations of motion, pore-fluid dynamics, acoustic pressure, and modified heat conduction under a laser-decaying boundary condition. Analytical solutions are obtained using the normal-mode technique, and numerical simulations are performed to investigate the influence of the damage parameter, laser decay coefficient, and conductivity nonlinearity on the spatial distributions of temperature, displacement, stress, pore pressure, and acoustic pressure fields. The results show that material damage reduces effective stiffness while enhancing displacement amplitudes and modifying wave attenuation, whereas exponential conductivity intensifies thermal localization near the excitation surface. The combined effects lead to pronounced changes in thermoacoustic wave behavior and deeper energy penetration. The present model provides new insights into wave propagation in damaged porous materials and has potential applications in thermal barrier systems, laser-based diagnostics, and nondestructive evaluation of degraded porous structures.
