Integrated Power-Conversion and Exposure-Control Architecture of the CXMEDGEN Modular Diagnostic X-Ray Generator
Modern diagnostic X-ray generators must combine high peak power with accurate electrical regulation, short exposure timing, detector synchronization, and safe system integration. This paper presents the integrated power-conversion and exposure-control architecture of CXMEDGEN, a modular diagnostic X-ray generator. CXMEDGEN combines a SiC-based high-frequency inverter, closed-loop tube-voltage and tube-current control, grid-controlled radiation gating, and configurable interfaces for flat-panel detectors, automatic exposure control, dose-area-product measurement, and external system controllers. Safety-critical and time-sensitive functions are separated from configuration, telemetry, and service communication, while replaceable modules provide normalized operating limits and status information to a central exposure-control state machine. The architecture is intended to support conventional radiography, serial and pulsed operation, and the generator-side timing requirements of dynamic and sequential dual-energy imaging.
