Harmonic Observation Theory: Statistical Evidence and Open Questions for Thermodynamic Proximity Ratio R' as an Electronic-Ionic Polarization Probe
This study proposes the Harmonic Observation Theory framework, treating multi-technique observation data of materials as a unified harmonic response spectrum. Part I presents statistical evidence from a 415,823-record harmonic observation database across 7 sources, finding that R' is an electronic-ionic polarization probe strongly correlated with band gap (rho=0.520) yet uncorrelated with mechanical properties; the phase transition critical region near R'=0.1 is a polarization response singularity; two distinct high-epsilon mechanisms are determined by structural symmetry and phonon frequency; the true driver of ionic dielectric response is phonon frequency (omega-squared) rather than Born effective charge. Part II proposes 9 theoretical directions including three postulates, FDNE nonlinear oscillator harmonic structure, and sweet-spot harmonic richness prediction, each annotated with verification status, inviting community participation.
