Hardware‐Software Chaotic Encryption Systems of Dual‐optic Memristors Based on Ferroelectric‐controlled CdSe Quantum Dots

ABSTRACT Digital images are critical for information transmission in fields such as healthcare, finance, and beyond. However, pure‐software encryption systems are inherently vulnerable to statistical attacks and lack intrinsic hardware‐level authentication. Moreover, growing data volume and redundancy impose additional challenges of high energy consumption and poor integration density on edge hardware. Here, we propose a dual‐optic memristor coupled with CdSe quantum dots (CdSe‐QDs) and La:Pb(Zr/Ti)O 3 ferroelectric, achieving a high‐security image perception and encryption system through synergistic vacancies and atomic ferroelectric polarization. The device exhibits excellent characteristics: the coupling of about 4 nm CdSe‐QDs with La:Pb(Zr/Ti)O 3 ferroelectric films enables switching operation with ultra‐low power consumption of only 6.44 µW, while possessing a unique “optical anti‑counterfeiting” function and bidirectional optical response characteristics. Furthermore, the optoelectronic dual‐field collaborative encryption system constructed based on these combines hardware‐level optical field authentication with software‐level electric field encryption, achieving a pixel change rate of 99.61%, a correlation coefficient as low as 0.028, and a key space of 165 bits. The solution, with high security, low power consumption and compactness, provides a new technical approach for edge computing applications in secure communications, medical data protection and other fields.
