A Conductive <scp>PLA</scp> / <scp>GE</scp> / <scp>CNT</scp> Electrospun Dressing Combined With Electrical Stimulation Accelerates Skin Wound Healing

ABSTRACT Wound healing is a complex process that requires the coordinated action of various cell lineages, among which fibroblasts play an important role at all stages of wound healing. Due to its gentle nature and precise controllability, electrical stimulation has also attracted attention in the wound healing process. To this end, we constructed a carbon nanotube (CNT)‐based conductive dressing—polylactic acid/gelatin/CNT (PLA/GE/CNT)—using electrospinning technology. This material has good biocompatibility, and its fibers are characterized by aligned orientation. When combined with external electrical stimulation, it effectively promotes fibroblast proliferation and adhesion, as well as collagen deposition. In a full‐thickness skin injury model in rats, the PLA/GE/CNT combined with electrical stimulation significantly accelerated wound healing with high quality. In summary, the PLA/GE/CNT fabricated via electrospinning combines the excellent biocompatibility of PLA/GE with the conductivity of CNT. When used together with external electrical stimulation, it effectively promotes changes in fibroblast behavior and accelerates wound healing. Our study provides support for the development of electrospun fiber‐based conductive dressings combined with external electrical stimulation to promote wound healing.
