Evaluation of fungicides for management of cucurbit downy mildew on cucumbers, 2025 (Clinton, North Carolina)
Pseudoperonospora cubensis is the airborne, oomycete causal agent of cucurbit downy mildew. The disease is characterized by having angular chlorotic lesions on the adaxial side of the leaf as its symptoms. Additionally, the signs are dark purple patches that contain melanized sporangia on the abaxial side of the leaf. This report evaluates the effectiveness of chemical management strategies for cucumber downy mildew at the Horticultural Crops Research Station in Clinton, North Carolina. The trial was conducted in 2025. Disease severity was assessed. Ranman, Orondis Opti, Previcur, Omega , and Presidio were significantly different from the nontreated control.
