Neural Regeneration Protocol: Selective Degradation via MRI-Activated Nanoparticles
Abstract This article presents a technical protocol, released under a public domain license, aimed at reversing central nervous system (CNS) lesions caused by glial scar formation. The proposed system employs a precision delivery vehicle—nanoparticles functionalized with amino acids (LAT1 ligands)—to cross the blood–brain barrier (BBB) non‑invasively. Controlled activation via an external electromagnetic field (magnetic resonance imaging) enables the release of proteolytic enzymes into the scar, followed by a calibrated cocktail of neurotrophic growth factors that guide targeted cell differentiation in the injured region. The protocol integrates replicated biological signaling (chemokines, cytokines, growth factors) with systems engineering principles, replacing invasive surgical interventions. Imaging checkpoints, dosage control, and systemic anti‑inflammatory support ensure safety and reproducibility. The objective is to accelerate global collaboration in regenerative neuroscience by establishing an open, non‑proprietary framework for therapeutic development.
