nvisible at the Tap PFAS in French drinking water and a proposal for a Source-to-Tap PFAS Passport

This student review examines the presence of PFAS in French drinking water using recent official reports, European regulations and scientific literature available up to July 2026. It explains PFAS chemistry, sources, health concerns, analytical monitoring and water-treatment options. Particular attention is given to the Anses 2024–2025 targeted national campaign; its results are carefully distinguished from a representative estimate of all French drinking water. The article proposes an original “Source-to-Tap PFAS Passport” for connecting pollution sources, raw-water measurements, treatment conditions, treated-water results, analytical uncertainty and public actions. This educational review was written by a 17-year-old French STL student interested in chemistry. It presents no new laboratory measurements and aims to support scientific discussion, public understanding and improved environmental monitoring.
