STEMI in a Patient With Aspirin‐Induced Angioedema: A Case for Early Desensitization
We report a 47-year-old male presenting with inferior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and a history of aspirin-induced angioedema. Despite the challenges of antithrombotic management in the context of aspirin allergy, the patient underwent successful primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), followed by early in-hospital aspirin desensitization. This case highlights the feasibility and safety of early desensitization, allowing timely initiation of guideline-recommended dual antiplatelet therapy in a high risk setting.
