Your Navigator is Ableist: The Distorted Twin and Constitutional Topology of Sovereign Routing in Smart Cities
Abstract What happens when algebra usurps political power? Studies on digital mobility predominantly focus on utilitarian geometric route optimization. However, this paradigm overlooks the fact that navigation algorithms operate as concealed normative actors, thereby distributing the right to the city. Drawing upon a synthesis of transport justice, geoinformatics, and the political philosophy of algorithmic governmentality, this paper conceptualizes the "Distorted Digital Twin"—an urban simulation that perpetuates historical spatial discrimination and generates epistemic injustice against individuals with reduced mobility. To counteract Algorithmic Ableism, the study introduces the Sovereign Access Functional $\mathcal{F}_{SD}(p)$ designed for the $A^*$ heuristic search. This model integrates temporal fuzzy logic to evaluate Relational Barrierness, alongside the Algorithmic Subordination Index $Z(e)$, which serves as a computable measure of corporate spatial hegemony. To safeguard human autonomy against algorithmic paternalism, the proposed architecture calculates the physical cost of bypassing monopolized spaces, restoring the subject's capacity for conscious political resistance. Furthermore, to counter the extractivism of Big Data, the paper substantiates a methodological transition toward decentralized machine learning (Edge ML and Federated Learning), establishing the epistemic solidarity of marginalized groups without compromising their privacy. This research functions as a Gedankenexperiment, demonstrating the epistemological feasibility of mathematically encoding the Constitutional Topology of Space. Within the philosophy of technology, this study advances the discourses of algorithmic ethics and platform urbanism by methodologically operationalizing power relations through mathematics. Embedding normative constraints directly into the objective function of the heuristic search asserts the capacity of engineering code to operate as an actionable mechanism for curtailing infrastructural hegemony and securing the digital sovereignty of marginalized subjects. Note: This is an extended version of the research featuring mathematical formalization and the Glossary of Constitutional Topology. In Ukrainian and English.
