Sterically Driven Friedel–Crafts-Type Rearrangement Enables Spiro-Acridine Multiple-Resonance TADF Emitters for Narrowband Deep-Blue OLEDs
Two spiro-acridine-based deep-blue MR-TADF emitters, SABN and SABN-SA, were developed via one-shot borylation. Both emitters exhibit ultranarrow blue emission (fwhm: 18-19 nm) and high PLQYs (>80%). The SABN-SA OLED achieves a maximum EQE of 19.8% with BT.2020-compatible deep-blue emission, demonstrating the effectiveness of spiro engineering for high-performance narrowband MR-TADF emitters.
