Energy Crossing the Informational Barrier: A Mechanical Derivation of E=mc^2 , Mass, Gravity, Quantization, and Gravitation in the Alpha Void Information Ontology Paper 5
This paper presents a unified mechanical account in which all matter emerges when raw deviation energy crosses the Informational Barrier — the combination of marginal stability \( K = P V_0(e) = \mathcal{V} c^2 \) and critical locking efficiency \( \beta_{\rm crit}(n) = 1 - 1/n^2 \). Rest mass is the stored persistence cost required to maintain locked deviation structures against reclamation by the Alpha Void. The relation \( E = mc^2 \) is the direct conversion factor between free deviation (unlocked energy propagating at \( c \) and locked deviation (persistent matter). Using the clean eccentricity \( e_0 = 1/\sqrt{2} \), integer cycle closure, helical multi-mode locking, and the unified temporal resistance law, the framework derives mass, gravity (as collective reclamation strain), quantization, the photoelectric effect, and the duality between rest mass and gravitational attraction from a single primitive. Key results include a mechanical origin for \( E = mc^2 \), the Planck spectrum, time dilation, and why there is something rather than nothing. The ontology is deterministic, information-first, and consistent with Wheeler’s “It from Bit”. Author: John Robert Lamarr GreerDate: July 2026 (Revised Edition)
