Time as the Ultimate Big Bang: Dark Time, Dark Space, and Branching Information Dynamics

This paper proposes that Time itself constitutes the primordial 'Big Bang' not an event that occurred within time, but the very act of time's origination that constitutes reality's foundational expansion. We introduce and develop four interlocking theoretical concepts. First, Time as the Ultimate Big Bang: time is not a parameter within which the universe unfolds but is rather the self-generating substrate of all existence, whose self-instantiation is the cosmological origin event. Second, Dark Time: an unobservable temporal dimension underlying measurable clock-time, analogous in structure (though not in mechanism) to dark matter and dark energy a background of pure temporal becoming prior to any observer, clock, or metric. Third, Dark Space: the latent pre-geometric spatial fabric co-emergent with Dark Time, from which the metric geometry of general relativity emerges as a derived, low-energy structure. Fourth, Branching Information Dynamics (BID): the mechanism by which the undifferentiated substrate of Dark Time and Dark Space differentiates into the structured, observable universe through the progressive generation of informational distinctions. We further argue that a 'Time void' a hypothetical state of absolute temporal non-existence is not merely empirically absent but logically and physically impossible, and that this very impossibility constitutes a generative principle: because time cannot not-exist, its existence is necessary, and this necessity is itself the ultimate cosmological ground.
