Electrochemical Iodination-Triggered Mumm Rearrangement of Hydrazones with Acids: Access to N,N ′-Diacylhydrazines
-Diacylhydrazine derivatives are well-known for their extensive applications in agriculture and medicine. In this study, the core skeleton is synthesized via an electrochemical method utilizing commercially available acids and easily accessible hydrazones through an iodination-triggered reaction. This approach broadens the substrate scope under mild reaction conditions. Mechanistic studies indicate that the reaction proceeds via an iodination-triggered reaction between hydrazones and acids to generate an intermediate, which subsequently undergoes Mumm rearrangement to afford the desired products.
