EMBED+: Conceptual Framework and Maturity Matrices
This publication presents EMBED+, the next generation of the European Maturity Model for Blended Education, designed to help higher education institutions develop and improve sustainable blended learning practices. The document introduces a maturity-based framework that enables institutions to assess their current practices, identify areas for improvement, and support continuous organisational development. It also describes the evidence-informed design principles, maturity levels, and practical tools that help educators and institutions implement and evaluate blended education effectively. Finally, the publication highlights how EMBED+ supports the digital transformation of European Higher Education Institutions through collaboration, innovation, inclusiveness, and responsible educational technology use.
