Space Reality or Fantasy
Abstract This proposal presents a coherent technology architecture for biologically sustainable human operations beyond Earth orbit, centred on rotating artificial-gravity habitats, high-power electric propulsion, compact advanced reactors, and liquid-metal electromagnetic systems. The concept links a lunar 0.7G Gateway station, a Mars-class symmetrical cruiser, metal-ablation plasma propulsion, and reusable atmospheric shuttle technologies into a staged development path that begins with low-risk structural and crewed artificial-gravity demonstrations in Earth orbit before progressing to reactor integration, cislunar operations, and eventual fusion-powered Mars missions. Its central argument is that long-duration exploration cannot rely on microgravity or raw lunar and Martian gravity alone; instead, artificial gravity, radiation shielding, continuous power, and efficient propulsion must be treated as one integrated survival system. By separating established physics, near-future engineering, and speculative but internally consistent elements into credibility tiers, the proposal offers a world-building framework that is both imaginative and technically disciplined: “space reality or fantasy” becomes a deliberate blend of present science, plausible extrapolation, and coherent future design.
