CCRT: An E8-Based Ansatz for the Fine-Structure Constant with One Fitted Scale Factor - v1.1 Correction

v1.1 Correction Notice: Version v1.0 claimed a zero-parameter derivation matching CODATA 2018 to 31 decimal places with error 1.22e-31. This claim is formally retracted. In v1.1, the quantity S4D = 158.395070364 defined in Eq.8 is identified as one fitted scale factor chosen to match experiment, not derived from E8. CODATA 2018 value α⁻¹ = 137.035999084(21) has only 11 significant digits, so 31-digit matching is impossible. The unscaled E8 product P = Φ×K×N×ω×θ×π = 21705.8267 differs from experiment by factor S4D. This version presents the construction as a one-parameter phenomenological ansatz. The exact identities Φ = 240/144 = 5/3 and N = 248-21 = 227 remain exact; their combination is hypothesized. The zero-parameter framework giving α⁻¹ = 2475/681 = 137.0350877 with deviation 6.6e-6 is discussed in companion preprints. See PDF for full correction.

Abstract

v1.1 Correction Notice: Version v1.0 claimed a zero-parameter derivation matching CODATA 2018 to 31 decimal places with error 1.22e-31.
