NFDI4ING RDM Basics for Engineers – Course Materials

The NFDI4ING "RDM Basics for Engineers" lecture series provides an introduction to Research Data Management (RDM) in the engineering sciences. The format focuses on basic concepts, practical examples, and hands-on exercises. Participants learn how RDM can be integrated into research workflows from the very beginning. The series is designed as a low-threshold entry point and can also serve as preparation for more advanced training formats, such as the NFDI4ING Summer Schools. The lecture series is open to Universities of Applied Sciences (HAWs), Collaborative Research Centres (SFBs), students, PhD candidates, researchers, and anyone interested in Research Data Management. No prior knowledge is required. This Zenodo record provides the presentation materials for the four course sessions: Part 1: Introduction to Research Data Management in Engineering Part 2: Best Practices in Research Data Management (DMPs, RDMO and handling research data) Part 3: Metadata and Semantics Part 4: FAIR Engineering Research Software The presentation for Part 4: FAIR Engineering Research Software is provided as a ZIP archive for long-term preservation and is also available as an interactive HTML presentation: RDM Basics 4 · Research Software (FAIR4RS) — NFDI4ING Further information about the lecture series, upcoming course dates, and the Book your own format is available at: https://nfdi4ing.de/rdm-basics/
