Concept of Rasayana and in Vitro Scientific Validation of Rasayana Effects of Drug Vidari (Pueraria Tuberosa (Roxb. Ex Willd.): An Integrative Review
Rasayana yogas in Ayurveda are special combinations of drugs to promote longevity, strength, immunity, nourishment and mental strength. They enhance systemic resistance and cellular vitality. These effects can be scientifically validated through in vitro models by assessing the immunomodulatory and proliferatory markers. THP-1 cell lines and L-929 cell lines are widely used for studying cellular responses to various drugs. Vidari holds significant importance due to its nourishing and rejuvenative properties. The underlying cellular mechanisms responsible for its Rasayana effects remain inadequately explored using modern scientific technologies. Various parameters recommended to investigate in this particular study may provide scientific basis to interpret the effects of Rasayana drugs in cellular level.
