Modern interpretation of the TCM Five Zang-Viscera Correlation Theory and organ crosstalk in cardiovascular diseases
The functional systematic perspective and holistic interconnection concept embodied in the Five Zang-Viscera Correlation Theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) crucially highlight that the human body constitutes an organic whole, wherein the zang-fu organs maintain close interconnections and exert synergistic regulatory effects on one another. The “organ crosstalk” theory in modern biomedicine reveals the intrinsic mechanisms of interorgan interactions under both physiological and pathological conditions. From the perspective of organ crosstalk, this article systematically elaborates on the scientific connotation and clinical application value of the TCM Five Zang-Viscera Correlation Theory within the field of cardiovascular diseases. It aims to integrate the TCM holistic view with modern interorgan signaling regulatory mechanisms, thereby providing new insights for exploring the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases, early risk warning, and the development of comprehensive prevention and treatment strategies.
