Application of hardware high-frequency chest wall oscillation with focal pulsation (Respin 11) in the complex therapy of severe exacerbation of cystic fibrosis

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a severe hereditary disease characterized by the formation of viscous sputum leading to airway obstruction, chronic infection, and a steady decline in lung function. Despite modern targeted therapy, patients with CF, especially those with advanced forms and chronic infections such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, etc., continue to experience frequent exacerbations requiring intensive care and effective bronchial tree sanitation. This clinical case presents the experience of using a hardware drainage therapy method — high-frequency chest wall oscillation with focal pulsation (FP-HFCWO) using the Respin 11 (RespInnovation SAS, France) device in a patient with severe cystic fibrosis during hospitalization for an exacerbation. The use of the method contributed to the improvement of the drainage function of the lungs, regression of symptoms and good compliance by the patient.
