5P Clinical relevance of HPV31 infection in Tunisian women: Frequency and oncogenic potential
HPV infection is the most frequent sexually transmitted infection worldwide. Currently screening programs focus on HPV16 and HPV 18 the most prevalent high risk (HR) types in cervical screening and cervical progression and they are targeted by bivalent and quadrivalent vaccines. In Tunisia other HPV types were reported but there is insufficient data to guide the national HPV vaccination programme. HPV31 is one of the most frequent HR HPV types. The aim of this study is to assess the proportion and the oncogenic potential of HPV31 in Tunisian women compared with HPV types 16 and 18.
