ECR Spotlight – Niclas Lundsgaard

ECR Spotlight is a series of interviews with early-career authors from a selection of papers published in Journal of Experimental Biology and aims to promote not only the diversity of early-career researchers (ECRs) working in experimental biology but also the huge variety of animals and physiological systems that are essential for the ‘comparative’ approach. Niclas Lundsgaard is an author on ‘ When repair mechanisms fail to keep up: high UVB irradiance causes disproportionate accumulation of DNA lesions’, published in JEB. Niclas conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Craig Franklin's lab at School of the Environment, The University of Queensland, Australia. Niclas is now a Scientist (government) in the lab of Glenn McGregor at Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation, Australia, investigating how complex ultraviolet-B exposure regimes in early life stages affect amphibian physiology acutely, as well as chronically through metamorphosis.
