Three-Stage Irreversible Evolution Paradigm of Embodied Intelligence
Abstract Current research and industrial development of humanoid robots, autonomous driving, and general embodied intelligence have long been trapped in directional research misunderstandings\. Academic and industrial communities widely adopt skip\-step and cross\-level development strategies, directly omitting two core pre\-links: virtual simulation pre\-training and virtual\-reality perception calibration, and deploying intelligent physical hardware without sufficient theoretical preparation\. Existing studies mostly focus on algorithm optimization, sensor iteration and motion control engineering implementation, while a top\-level hierarchical theoretical framework with biological basis, hardware physical constraints and progressive engineering implementation has not been established\. This paper constructs an original three\-stage progressive evolution system of embodied intelligence across cognitive biology, mechanical hardware engineering and industrial logic of artificial intelligence\. Firstly, taking the cognitive development law of human infants aged 0–3 as a natural reference model, this paper demonstrates the natural progressive order of general intelligence: perceptual accumulation first, virtual\-reality alignment second, and physical manipulation last\. Secondly, by comparing the self\-healing and fault\-tolerant mechanism of biological bodies with the essential hardware defects of mechanical robots — no self\-repair ability and irreversible trial\-and\-error loss — this paper physically proves that virtual simulation pre\-training is an indispensable compensatory basic link for robotic embodied intelligence\. Finally, this paper corrects the core industrial cognitive fallacy and proposes an objective engineering principle for progressive implementation: intelligent iteration must start from well\-controlled, high\-fault\-tolerance and low\-degree\-of\-freedom unmanned carriers such as UAVs, autonomous vehicles and automatic railway trains\. Only after completing the verification of full virtual\-reality transfer technology stack and establishing standardized systems can high\-complexity humanoid robots be developed\. This paper thoroughly clarifies the underlying theoretical defects of skip\-step and cross\-level development in the current industry, fills the theoretical gaps in hierarchical evolution, virtual\-reality transfer mechanism and engineering implementation order of general embodied intelligence, and provides rigorous basic academic support for the long\-term technical route, scientific research paradigm and industrial layout of humanoid robots and general embodied intelligence\.
