A Voltage Control Method Using LDC Logic in a Low Voltage Distribution System with Solid-State Transformer

Introducing photovoltaic (PV) into low-voltage distribution systems is being promoted to achieve carbon neutrality. Overvoltage by reverse power flow from PV is one of the problems for introduction, and a Solid-State Transformer (SST) is being considered as a device to prevent such deviation. Although the voltage regulation in the low-voltage distribution system is available by adjusting the output voltage of SST, the voltage profile along the distribution line cannot be monitored online. Therefore, this paper proposes to apply LDC (Line Drop Compensation) logic to the voltage control by SST. The LDC parameters are determined based on impedance map, load capacity, and PV capacity. The proposed method showed potential for suppressing voltage deviations caused by the reverse power flow from PV.
