Generative Dance: Interplaying to Compose Collectively
This article outlines the foundational principles of the Generative Dance Program (GDAM), designed to facilitate collective composition through interactive dance practices. Inspired by the structural work of Diehl and Lampert, we present an overview of the program’s core concepts, methodologies, objectives, and structure. The article is divided into sections that cover Early Stages, Concept and Ideology, and Integration into Contemporary Pedagogical Practices. It guides readers through an in-depth exploration of the generative dance program, highlighting its potential for collaborative creation and advancements in dance education. The program emphasizes bodily co-presence, shared focus, and mutual attention, all of which promote collective cocreation and enhance intersubjective experiences.
