PD/OMS-2 An Efficient Catalyst For Hydrogen Evolution Through Morpholine Borane Hydrolysis

We present the synthesis of a Pd/OMS-2 catalyst, in which palladium (Pd) nanoparticles were effectively deposited onto the OMS-2 support via an impregnation-reduction approach. The catalytic activity of the resulting material was subsequently evaluated in the hydrolysis of borane-morpholine (BM). The catalyst was characterized by a range of advanced spectroscopic techniques, such as inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), powder X-ray diffraction (P-XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) coupled with SEM. The Pd nanoparticles exhibited an HGR of 52.22 mL·min⁻¹·g⁻¹, an initial TOF of 1346 h⁻¹, and an Ea# of 46.052 kJ·mol⁻¹ for this reaction. Moreover, the Pd/OMS-2 catalyst demonstrated excellent stability in recyclability tests, retaining 63.7% of its initial catalytic performance after four consecutive cycles.
