On May 7, 2026, I (YG) attended the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) annual general meeting in Ottawa. Payment of OMA dues is mandatory for physicians practising medicine or conducting health research in Ontario.1 As a physician in this province, I had come to listen, learn about the association's priorities, and participate in the governance of an organization that claims to represent us and improve health care for the communities we serve.
