SIMULATION ANALYSES OF A 20-STORY SMALL-SCALE RC BUILDING CONSIDERING PROGRESSION OF SLIPPAGE AND OVERALL FLEXURAL NONLINEARITY DEPENDING ON RESPONSE AMPLITUDE LEVELS
This paper presents simulation analyses of shaking table tests of a 20-story small-scale RC building conducted at E-Defense. A bending–shear model is used to represent amplitude-dependent changes in restoring-force characteristics. The shear stiffness is modeled as a parallel combination of the Takeda and slip hysteresis models, and their contributions are varied according to the response amplitude of each story to capture the progression of slippage. The flexural stiffness incorporates nonlinear characteristics observed in the experiments. The analytical results show good agreement with the experimental data over a wide range of response amplitudes.
