Urgency to Propose Normative Soil Limits for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances Targeting PFOA and PFOS
High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are ubiquitous and water threshold limits are beginning to be enforced in various regions, particularly for perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). An associated concern is PFAS contamination to soils, which impacts the potential transfer of PFAS to crops, grazing animals, and leaching to surface water and groundwater. Here we present the urgency to set international, normative soil limits for PFOS and PFOA.
