Hemodynamic 3D profile of the temporomandibular joint in models of abnormal dental arch relationships

Objective. To determine the types, nature, and degrees of dynamic microcirculation equilibrium in a 3D volumetric region of the TMJ tissue using blood pressure, perfusion index (%), and saturation index (SpO2) (%) parameters in models of displaced active bite. Material and methods. Hemodynamic parameters were measured using a method we developed for determining local tissue hemodynamic balance (Patent by application Invention No. 2025120580/14 (048437)). The method involves measuring quantitative blood flow parameters within specific compression ranges of tissue containing blood vessels (arteries and veins), followed by analysis of physical hemodynamic parameters. Results. The patterns of functioning of functional fragments of vascular modules have been established - relatively isolated in hemodynamic terms complexes of microvessels that supply blood to organs and tissues of the TMJ disorders area. Conclusions. A long-term microcirculation imbalance resulting from changes (repositioning) of dense joint components with subsequent deformation of the microcirculatory network may be a missing link in the pathogenesis of TMJ disorders.
