Land to the West of Legoland, Windsor, Berks: An Archaeological Evaluation Report Projects 1 & 2

Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd was appointed by Stace LLP on behalf of Legoland Windsor to undertake an archaeological evaluation at Land to the West of Legoland, Berkshire. The Site covers an area of approximately 6ha and is the subject of a proposed holiday village and associated car park development for which a planning application has been submitted to the Local Planning Authority (LPA) Wokingham Borough Council. The archaeological evaluation comprised the excavation of no. 32 trenches, each 30m by 2m, and was carried out between the 11th 21st July 2022. The evaluation was carried out in keeping with the approved methodology and appears to have met the aims set out, indicating that the majority of the Site has been widely and adversely affected by modern activity, severely reducing the archaeological potential of the Site.
